maker faire this weekend

come block print with me this weekend at the maker faire in nyc! we'll be printing projects from my book. i'm in booth 4023 in the crafts section of the faire.

i'm going to be an exhibitor at the world maker faire in NYC this weekend! if you haven't ever been, the maker faire is a mad explosion of creativity of all sorts, organized by make magazine. i'll be demonstrating block printing (at booth 4023) to promote my new book. come by, you'll just love the faire!

sarah took this picture of sean and i playing in the lake at squam art workshops this weekend. we had a great time - we got to visit with the lovely cal, i was a vendor at the squam art fair (the first time i've been able to sell my book!) and i got my first glimpse of the beauty of squam.

we headed out to hampton beach during a recent hurricane swell. sean did some surfing at dusk, but i stayed on the beach to take pictures because the light was so beautiful.

when i worked as a photo researcher at the american museum of natural history we joked that photos of the orion nebula showed up in every exhibit we did. now i'm seeing pictures of nebulas everywhere - i'm especially loving these new looks from christopher kane.

in just a week and a half, on september 18th, i will be participating in the squam art fair at the fall session of the squam art workshops in holderness, NH. i am so excited to be going to squam for the first time. i've heard such great things about it from cal and sarah, who have both taught at the workshops, and will be at the fair.

i'm also looking forward to sitting on that dock. wow.

it is pretty wild seeing my book on the shelf at barnes & noble!
