tricia at bits & bobbins did a great post on raeburn ink today! she has such an amazing eye and fashion vision. looking through her blog posts, i saw quite a number of things i will have to work hard to resist buying, or maybe not. i think i need these as soon as it stops raining in eureka. thanks, tricia!

my patchwork handbag was featured on etsy today in the storque in an article by tricia royal of wardrobe remix. i was so pleased to stumble upon the article! etsy is such a vast creature that it is still a mystery to me how people find things there. but i am glad to be a part of such a interesting and creative community..

sometimes i think this could be called the shadows blog, because i post so many pictures of shadows on it. with that thought, here's another one, a quiet visual moment at sean's parent's house - a rarity in a house full of knicknacks.

when i was in the OC for christmas, i snapped a shot of this picture that sean's mom has hanging on the wall. it's sean, as the 1998 YMCA poster child...

wednesday was a splendid day to land at the tiny airstrip that is the arcata/eureka airport. we had a gorgeous view of the whole area, and i tried desperately to find my house, but couldn't quite pick it out. only propeller planes fly into the airport - this trip i was on a plane with seats for 34 passengers. there are two gates, one for arrivals and one for departures. and if these indicators weren't enough, the fantastic smell of fresh sea air hit as soon as i got off the plane, reminding me that i had journeyed very far away from the city.

i enjoyed working at the moey HQ - its a great space at the old american can factory in brooklyn. a fantastic building filled with the studios of some amazing artists. lite brite neon is in the building, and joey commissioned a neon portrait of molly for the studio. what a splendid icon!

i flew back home to california today, after three weeks in nyc. i had a great time out east, it was fun to work as part of the creative team at moey, and i learned so much about technology in a very short time. i didn't have tons of time for socializing, but i did get to catch up with a few dear friends and visit some of my favorite ny haunts. (nikki's class at kula yoga was at the top of my list!) as usual, air travel amazes me - i woke up in the east village today, and i am going to sleep in the redwoods. it is good to be home!

i got down to philly this weekend to see my parent's new apartment. its quite lovely and they are thrilled to be in a new place. i didn't take many pictures, but i was struck by the beautiful reflection the stovetop made on the tiles in the kitchen, casting shadows of the burners...

i am back east working for moey inc. for a special project.  i'm glad to be back in brooklyn for a little while!  i've been mostly working at moey's studio, but have enjoyed being back in the city, eating great food and walking everywhere.  strangely, it's a refreshing change from the country!

it continues to get frosty these humboldt mornings. the frost crystals are beautiful - they cover everything and sparkle.

december in the OC

it was a warm, suburban christmas down in orange county with sean's family. there were many outings. sean took me to the swankest mall i've ever seen, where i would have loved to shop at marni, but instead we scraped together $40 for lunch. we spent an afternoon surfing at san onofre, which was surrounded by the desert landscape that sadly has been mostly overrun by housing developments and strip malls. we also had some fun adventures in LA - a trip to the spectacular getty with outstanding views wherever you turn, and my favorite stop, a long overdue pilgrimage to the museum of jurassic technology!
