last weekend i helped sean check the track plate and camera traps he had set up for a class he's a TA for at umass. it was fun tromping around in the woods - he used chicken as bait and animals had to walk through some powder and across sticky paper to get to it. the squirrels and field mice left such sweet prints on the paper! and they also left a chicken leg that had been tied to a tree across from a camera trap, but sean told me somebody came back for that later...

that is so cool! i have been fascinated by all of the different tracks in the snow when we walk in the woods. the coyote tracks are HUGE! i love the idea of setting camera and print 'traps'...
