we made it!

after a cross country trek, sean and i have finally landed at our new apartment in northampton. we saw many of the beautiful national parks out west, made stops to visit with friends and family, and ate way too many ice creams on the drive.  i can't decide which stop was my favorite, though our day of geyser viewing in yellowstone was pretty spectacular.

it's good to be back on the east coast, with crickets and leafy trees, hot summer nights, and friends nearby.  i know i'll miss parts of california, but right now i'm looking forward to new ventures...

it has been a nutty week, the moving van is coming tomorrow to take our things to the east coast. fun last visits with dear friends, finishing up some exciting projects, and tons of packing. i'll miss lots of things about the redwood coast. bittersweet?

sean and i will be driving across the country for the next few weeks, then settling into our new home in northampton at the end of august. new adventures!

sean got a plastic waterproof camera to take surfing. its super fun to use, with wacky results - this pic was the favorite!

i bought two beautiful books online, they were waiting for me when i came home from orange county. printing by hand is by lena corwin - its a clear, lovely hand printing book with so many projects i'm looking forward to trying. and i've had my eye on neogeo for a while, a survey of the current graphic design trends in geometric abstraction - my favorite!!!

the lost coast

we hiked out to an old lighthouse on the fantastic lost coast today. it was a beautiful hike, with lots of great scenery, wildlife sightings, and beachcombing. but it was a little sad too because it was our last hike with the dogs - they are staying in california when we move east. we will miss them!!
